Final countdown to Lissadell concerts

The countdown continues to the biggest musical event of the year in the North West.

Thousands of revellers are expected to descend on Sligo for the highly anticipated Lissadell concerts.

There is only one day left until the three day musical extravaganza of the year kicks off at Lissadell House here in Sligo.

Last minute preparations are underway and excitement is building ahead of the three day mini festival.

30,000 fans are expected to descend on the historic estate to catch Sligo¢s own Westlife take to the stage for their homecoming concert tomorrow with legendary Leonard Cohen entertaining the masses for two sold out gigs on Saturday and Sunday.

A traffic management plan has been put in place for the event

Those travelling by car are advised that the only access to the concert venue is off the N15 Sligo Bundoran Road at Mullaghnaneane Cross, about 2 KM south of Grange.

There are no drop-off facilities for cars as they will only be allowed to exit the venue when the concert is underway.

Concert goers travelling by bus will be brought to the Bus Park at Lissadell while those opting for taxis will be brought to Oxfield Park and a shuttle bus service will run from there to the concert venue.

People with disabilities are asked to travel to Oxfield Park, and specially designated buses will bring them to the concert venue.

Gates open at 4pm for each concert and the message is to get their early in order to make the most of the Lissadell experience.
